Every day in the classroom is an opportunity to influence whole lifetimes.  We practice this awareness every day.  Among other things, it means that every child is positively acknowledged and encouraged, every class.  Individual participation and learning goals are in place for every child, every class.  And goals are tracked and adjusted for every child—yup, every class.

Chessmatix® 

ChessMatix® is our new, cutting-edge program that uses chess to reinforce early math competency! Specifically, ChessMatix® maps New York’s Next Generation Math Learning Standards for grades K-2 into a rigorous chess curriculum.  ChessMatix® will reinforce and enhance your existing math program, and may even result in measurable improvements in your school’s math outcomes.  ChessMatix® can be tailored to your school-specific curriculum, including Singapore Math or Everyday Mathematics.  Finally, for assisting us with proof of concept, we are providing early partner schools with sliding-scale pricing.

       

Afterschool & Curriculum Programs

Developed in the communities we serve, our programs use multiple modalities to reach each child, including children with special needs and English language learners.  Thus, in addition to traditional methods, our programs may include computer learning, singing, coloring, and working on a giant chess rug for kinesthetic learning.  Check out our "chess rap" for teaching kids (and some adults) how the chess pieces move.
